Add Same Day Schedules

With the Add Same Day Schedules function, you can schedule appointments for an individual doctor and location, to 'hold' certain time slots for walk-in appointments or emergency visits. You can select up to ten same day time slots for each schedule.

After the Same day appointments have been posted, you will see an appointment scheduled at the time(s) specified. The patient name will be 'Same Day' and the new patient indicator will be set to 'other', which will suppress a superbill from printing. The quantity of same day appointments scheduled per time slot is based on the value entered in the Max Appt/Unit field when the schedule was initially created. For example, if five appointments per unit was specified when the schedule was created, then five separate same day appointments will be scheduled for each selected time slot.

To schedule a patient in one of the Same Day time slots, you must first delete the Same day appointment. To prevent unauthorized staff from scheduling appointments in these time slots, you can password protect these appointments. Only the staff that knows the password can delete the same day appointment and replace it with a patient appointment. The password is stored in the Scheduling Integration function located on the System, Database Maintenance Menu.
