Change Function Security
With the Change Function Security menu, you can maintain security
levels and passwords for each menu function.
When CGM webPRACTICE is initially installed, every menu function has a
security level (between one and nine) assigned to it. One is the lowest
and nine is the highest. A user is allowed access to those functions with
a security level equal to, or less than, their own security level. You
can modify the security levels and add passwords to the various menu functions
based on the security needs of your practice.
NOTE: If your practice has multiple databases, the security for
each function is shared across the databases.
Upon accessing this function, you will need to click the magnifying glass
to search and select the function you want to change.
After selecting the function, the code displayed is comprised
of one mnemonic code from at least two connecting menus. Each set of codes
will be separated by a period and will access a specific function. For
example, MAN.AGE.PER or SYS.DBS.SCH. If you are not familiar with mnemonic
codes, you can print a list of functions and their mnemonic codes using
the Print
a List of Functions and Security function.
NOTE: You can only assign security levels and passwords to actual
functions, not menus. For instance, it is not possible to change the security
level of MAN.AGE (Reports, Aged Receivables) because that only gives you
access to a menu of various Aged Receivables report options.
