Insurance Class Table

By using Insurance Class codes, you can group together insurance carriers that share a common fee schedule. When you assign an Insurance Class code to an insurance carrier in the Insurance Carrier Table, the fee schedule stored with the Insurance Class code is linked to that carrier, which helps ensure consistent allowed amounts and simplifies fee schedule maintenance. You can also use Insurance Class codes to evaluate statistical information across groups of carriers.

The Insurance Class Table provides the following functions for managing insurance class codes:

Reports that include Insurance Class data
Several reports can be limited to a specific Insurance Class (or run for all classes). Insurance Class is used as a filter for these reports - the report output is grouped by Plan Code and Insurance Carrier, with additional sub-sorts such as Billing Group, Corporation, Location, Performing Doctor, and Responsible Doctor. The reports do not sort or subtotal by Insurance Class itself.
