Create Pre-Capitated Write-offs

With the Create Pre-Capitated Write-offs function, you can create a file containing every charge that will automatically be written off when you run the Create Capitated Write-offs function. This provides you with the opportunity to review the charges and patient accounts prior to actually writing them off. You can perform this function as often as needed.
Note: This function is for review purposes only and will not write off any charges.

After you have reviewed the charges and patient accounts, if applicable, you should proceed to the Create Capitated Write-offs function. For information about the various steps involved to process the write-offs, see Month-End Capitation Write-off Process.

For capitation schedules that are inclusive, only procedure codes matching those entered into the Capitation Schedule in Tables, Capitation Schedule Table, Enter Capitated Procedure Codes will be written off. For schedules that are exclusive, all procedure codes except those procedure codes entered into the Capitation Schedule, will be written off.

Upon accessing this function, you need to indicate which write-offs you want to create.

Last Capitation Write-Off Date	This field is informational only and reflects the date this function was last performed for the selected capitation schedule(s).	10
Write-off Charges through Date	Type the date you want to write-off charges through or click the calendar icon to select a date.	10

A message will display stating that the Pre-Capitation Write-offs are being created in the background.

You can use the Pre-Capitated Write-off Inquiry function to determine when the create process is complete and the Print Pre-Capitated Write-offs function to print a report containing the charges to be written off.
