Maintain Referral Source Provider Numbers

With the Maintain Referral Source Provider Numbers function you can store insurance carrier specific provider numbers for your referral sources. You can use this function to add, edit, review or delete a provider number for a referral source and insurance carrier.

Use this table if an insurance carrier requires the Referring Doctor's Provider Number in Box 17a (or its electronic equivalent) on the insurance claim form instead of their UPIN number.

Upon accessing this function, the Maintain Referral Src Provider Numbers screen displays containing blank data fields.

NOTE: After you type an existing Referral Source code and Insurance Carrier code, you must press the TAB key to view the Provider Number. If you press the ENTER key, the screen will save and refresh with only the Referral Source code displaying. This is due to an internal programming requirement and cannot be changed.

After you Save the code, the information refreshes on the screen.

To delete a provider number, select the referral source and insurance carrier. When the provider number displays, click Delete in the lower-right corner of the screen.

If you are the System Manager for CGM webPRACTICE, you should limit access to the Maintain function to select staff members. You should also provide guidelines (customized to your practice) to these staff members for entering table data in a consistent manner. This should protect the integrity of your table information.

To create new codes or edit existing codes in the table, a user must have the Allow Table Update check box selected in Maintain Users under System, User Management, and be given the appropriate security level.
