Insurance Plan Table
By using Insurance Plan codes, you can group together multiple insurance carrier codes that belong to one insurance plan. You can also link plan codes to an RVS Schedule, add plan code 'conversion amounts' for automatic allowable calculations in payment entry, and compare the conversion factors for various plans. You can print numerous insurance related and management reports for the plan codes. These reports can help determine if the plans are profitable and if you want to continue to participate with them.
You should only using Plan Codes if you are required to submit insurance claims to multiple insurance carriers and/or addresses that fall within the same plan or when using an RVS Schedule. You can assign individual insurance carriers to an insurance plan code by using the Plan Code field provided in the Insurance Carrier Table. For example, if you participate with Aetna Insurance and are required to submit claims to multiple addresses, you can create an Insurance Plan called 'AET'. Then, when you create the individual insurance carrier codes for each address, you could assign them all to the 'AET' insurance plan.
