Maintain Procedure Code Prices

With the Maintain Procedure Code Prices function you can maintain the procedure (CPT) code prices by effective date. All the procedure code prices displayed throughout the system will always be for the current effective date.
 
Pre-requisite: The Procedure Code Table must be created prior to using this function; either manually or by using the Load the AMA CPT Codes function or the Copy the Procedure Code Table function.
 
Upon accessing this function, the following message will display if the database is new or does not have an established procedure price effective date, This database has no Price Effective Date established. To set one up, type the effective date you want to create or accept the default of the current date. Click OK to proceed. You will be prompted to add a Price Effective Date and the Procedure codes will be copied into that effective date so you can start to enter the prices.

If you already have an established Price Effective Date
The most current Price Effective Date will be populated or you can select a different price effective date. Type or select the procedure code you want to edit. Click Save.

Price Effective Date Type or select a valid Effective Date for the Procedure Code Prices. You can create a new Price Effective Date using the Copy Procedure Prices function, which will copy an existing price list into a new effective date.    10

Next, type the prices for this procedure code.

Normal Price - Non Facility and Facility Type the normal price for this procedure.   10
Rate Schedules (A-E) - Non Facility and Facility Type a dollar amount if you want to charge patients tied to this rate schedule an amount different from the Normal Price.   10
Nominal Fee Community Health Centers (CHC) Only - Type a dollar amount if you want to override the Nominal Fee amount in the Type of Service Table.   10
Cost CHC Only - Type a dollar amount if there is an associated cost for this procedure code.   10


After you click Save, the information refreshes on the screen.
 
Use the Action Column functions to select and navigate through the codes and edit additional codes.  
 
Action Column Functions
The Action Column functions are provided so you can perform multiple functions quickly and efficiently from within the Maintain function.

Select - Displays a new screen with blank data fields so you can select another code.

Next - Displays the next code in the table. If you are viewing the last code in the table and click Next, you are returned to the main menu. If you make changes and click Next, the changes will not be saved. You must click Save to save the changes before proceeding to the next table item.

Previous - Displays the previous code in the table. If you are viewing the first code in the table and click Previous, you are returned to the main menu. If you make changes and click Previous, the changes will not be saved. You must click Save to save the changes before proceeding to the previous table item.
 
History - Displays an audit trail of any changes made to the selected Procedure Code for all Effective Dates. When prices are changed using the Import/Export Procedure Prices function, the Action message will display, ‘Changed Via File Import from (filename)’.
 
     

If you select one of the line items, the last change made to that Procedure Code will be listed. You can use the Prev and Next buttons to navigate through all of the changes stored in the audit trail.
